East Bay Mutts has moved to Gold Country!

***After 3 wonderful years we have left Oakland. Please stay tuned for the adventures of Gold Country Mutts.***

My name is Christina Yasi and I am the owner/operator of Gold Country Mutts. Over the past 10 years I have fostered close to 100 animals with a variety of medical and behavioral issues.  Some stayed and became a part of my family.  Having volunteered at several Bay Area shelters, I most recently was spending my free time at Oakland Animal Services and serving on the board of Friends of Oakland Animal Services.

Given my experience working with rescue dogs, it was a natural transition for me when I quit my job in higher education and founded East Bay Mutts in 2016. As of July 2019 we are now Gold Country Mutts!  I am committed to serving my clientele (both humans and dogs) to the best of my ability.  To that end I am continuously honing my skill set, enhancing my knowledge base, and staying up-to-date on current animal learning theory.  I earned my dog walking certification through dog*biz in 2017.  In 2018 I earned my dog training certification through the Dog Training Internship Academy of San Francisco, a highly respected, rigorous 5-month program focused on scientifically proven, positive-reinforcement dog training methods.

My clients make me laugh and smile every day. I can’t believe how lucky I am to work with such amazing dogs.

All his life he tried to be a good person. Many times, however, he failed. For after all, he was only human. He wasn’t a dog.
